Hello furry usenet. I'm still learning how this works, anyways, I'm
Rockford and I've been part of the whole
fandom/lifestyle/scene/whatever-it-is-you-want-to-call-it for about a
few years now. I'm still new to this whole platform but my parents have
a legacy here (as in meeting each other). I've always been an avid free
software and GNU/Linux advocate, music fan and (lowercase g) gamer
throughout my life. I have attended MFF2018/2019 and F^2 2019 so far and
I am hoping to go to AC if this COVID-19 stuff stops. If any of you want

I'm sure you can sympathize with me here being a freedom software
advocate yourself, but I really don't want a million and one
non-standard proprietary chat protocols/programs that don't work with
each other just to keep up with friends. Most of us are available via
XMPP, USENET, and EMAIL. I'd be happy to add you to my XMPP roster.

I know how you feel about this covid stuff. It looks like my local con
too is getting canceled.

Hey Rockford, nice to hear :D alt.fan.furry is pretty quiet, but still
inhabitated, and that's an interesting history with your parents meeting
on Usenet, haven't heard that before. ^_^
I hope that COVID-19 thing will be going less grave than now, with all
the meets, festivals and such only happening online, if even. But who
knows... let's not give up hope.
I have an account on only one of those platforms, Discord, and not
really used it since I made it... do you have IRC or XMPP? tom, the
other answerer, showed me a nice furry XMPP MUC. ^^
